In November 2019 Claudia Myatt packed her sketching gear and joined Dutch sailing ship Tecla for a two month voyage from the Galapagos Islands to Easter Island and the Falklands. She took no camera, choosing to try and record her experiences with pens, pencils and watercolours, as mariners have done for centuries.

The sketchbooks give a personal insight into life on board and the time spent on the three very different islands, from the tropical waters of the Pacific to the cold and wild beauty of the Southern Ocean and Cape Horn. The voyage left Claudia with a deep appreciation for our ocean wilderness and all who call it their home.
