Turkish Waters & Cyprus Pilot (10th ed)

This volume sits nicely next to the same authors’ Greek Waters (13th) and shares the advantages of the series format: a longish introduction setting out general information and expectations, then detailed scrutiny of the coastline, section by section. Rod Heikell’s choice of classical names gave me a moment’s confusion between the Ionian Coast (this volume) and the Ionian Sea (Greek Waters) but the effort of understanding and comparison offered new insight. Turkey’s Black Sea coast is included here in a less detailed format and the political complexities of divided Cyprus approached pragmatically. Overall, a wealth of desirable destinations and much good advice for negotiating the weather systems and passages between them.  Another indispensable volume.
