Outer Hebrides: CCC Sailing Directions and Anchorages (3rd edition)

This is the most recently updated of the invaluable CCC series. Its introduction includes the stark reminder that ‘the Outer Hebrides is no place for anyone who is unable to deal with adverse conditions that may arise unexpectedly,’ and there will be many sailors, frustrated by gale-dodging during the summer of 2024, who will have felt the truth of this. The CCC Sailing Directions include commentary on a wide selection of lesser-known anchorages, particularly useful when linked to the developing Antares chart project. This will become even more helpful as paper charts obsolesce.
Written descriptions are pragmatic rather than lyrical but in this unique cruising area, the photographs speak for themselves.
